This is an original watercolour from a series of daily paintings that I created during my time living in Garinish on the Beara Peninsula. Each day I painted and posted the painting, a photo or video and often some text, on social media.

This is a view from Firkeel Pier, facing north a low tide.

Description

19th November 2020 – Ah this place..

“Ah this place..

it’s the showing up day after day to sit and observe

That somehow creates a story of what the landscape is

It’s not that one glance, photo or quick watercolour

It’s the building of a relationship with it

Day after day

It’s the arc of change over time that hints of what it really is

Rising and falling; breathing tides

Wind dancing on surfaces

Raindrops drawing circular patterns on water

The growing blooming dying and rotting

Its all all all

ALIVE

And I think I’m here we’re here to sustain it’s aliveness by

appreciating it, by BE-ing in relationship with it all

Inter-being”
